Shine

Updated: Dec 7, 2021

I read a post today of a lovely lady. She was talking about the moment you reach to a certain point where you just have to start loving yourself, by accepting yourself with all your flaws. She was writing that it doesn't mean saying you are amazing or something like that, but have compassion for yourself.

I concur with everything except not saying you are amazing. Acknowledging your amazingness is part of the deal. We, as a society, have the tendency to label someone who believes he or she are amazing as being arrogant. We judge those people as not being humble, and we actually believe that being unhumble is wrong.

I disagree. It makes no sense to me that it is OK to beat yourself down for so many things, but it is not OK to shout out load how amazing you are.

You are amazing, with all your flaws and imperfections. That’s what makes you whole just as you are. That’s what makes you beautifully vulnerable and brave. That is part of your amazingness.

Nobody is perfect, but everybody has amazingness within them. Let it shine.
