When you hear the word “Meditation” you often picture someone sitting silently with crossed legs on a mountain top. So if you are a person who cannot seat quietly for a minute before your thoughts begin to wonder, or before your body starts to move, meditation looks like the last thing on earth you’ll be able to do, or even want to do…
But what if meditation wasn’t just that? What if you could let your body be totally relaxed and comfortable, let your thoughts wonder around, and still meditate and gain more clarity, more peace and space, and benefit from the release of burdening thoughts, feelings and emotions?
Guided imagination meditation is a simple way of receiving (when was the last time you just received? just asking...). You don’t have to DO anything, you don’t have to GET IT RIGHT, you don’t have to seat straight and still.
All you have to do is close your eyes and allow the spoken words to be heard at some level. If you’re very attentive, your imagination will follow the words and guidance. But even if you’ll find your thoughts wondering, or catch yourself drifting away towards sleep, you’ll get something out of the meditation even that way, because the words of the meditation have a vibration and energy. Infact, sometimes your body is doing just that in order to get your mind out of the way, so you’ll be able to benefit from the meditation.
As I said, there’s no right or wrong here, just the willingness to be present, whether you follow the words or just plunge into their energy.
I warmly invite you to try it out with one of my recorded guided imagination meditations. Choose one meditation from my Youtube channel HERE or from my website HERE (bottom of the page). Find a cozy place to sit or lie down, press play, close your eyes and be immersed with the energy.
Remember, this is an invitation, no rights or wrongs, no success or failure. Just an invitation for a few minutes of something different.
Enjoy.
